Pension clarity without the sales pitch
Understand what your pension paperwork is telling you - before you make an important decision.
The Clarity Review is a fixed-fee, human-led explanation of your pension paperwork. It helps you organise the facts, understand the terminology and identify the questions you may need to take forward before making bigger decisions.
Pension information and education only. We do not recommend products or providers, or tell you whether to transfer, consolidate, buy, sell or hold an investment.
A note from the founder
Why I created The Clarity Foundry
Created by James Durey, drawing on more than 20 years in financial services, including around 10 years as a financial adviser. The service is designed to explain pension information clearly without selling a product or making a personal recommendation. Read James's story.

Hi, I'm James, founder of the Clarity Foundry. I've spent more than 20 years working in financial services, including as a financial advisor. I created the service for people who have pensions and paperwork but don't feel completely clear about what they have or what it all means.
Regulated financial advice is important when you need a personalised recommendation, but not everybody is ready to commit to that immediately. While trying to do everything yourself can leave you with generic or confusing information, the Clarity Foundry sits between those two options.
I help you organise your pension information, understand the paperwork in plain English, identify information that may be missing, and prepare useful questions for your provider or a regulated financial advisor. This is financial education and preparation, not regulated financial advice. The aim is to help you feel more informed and prepared for your next step.

Start with the free Pension Clarity Checklist.
A 10-minute guide to help you spot the key pension details that are often buried in statements: fees, platform charges, old pots, projections, lifestyling, tax and exit barriers.
- Use it before booking a call
- Helps you review your own pension paperwork
- Shows when a deeper Clarity Review may be useful
The problem
Pension paperwork hides the wrong things in plain sight.
Most people do not lack information. They have statements, projections, fund names and provider letters. What they often do not have is a simple way to tell what actually matters.
The cost of doing nothing is not always obvious: hidden charges can compound for years, old pensions can be forgotten, and retirement dates can stay vague for longer than they need to.
Your pension may be using lifestyling
Some pensions automatically change their investment mix as a selected retirement date approaches. Your paperwork should explain when this begins, which funds are involved and how the process works.
You cannot see the full charge drag
Platform fees, fund charges, policy fees and adviser charges are rarely shown side by side. A small-looking percentage can make a meaningful difference over time.
You may not know what you would give up
Older pensions can carry exit penalties, guarantees or protected features. Before moving anything, it is worth understanding what could be lost as well as what could be gained.
Your death benefit wishes may be out of date
An old Expression of Wish form can mean your pension does not go where you intended. Many people have not checked theirs for years.
